True Play Day

Today my friend Sarah came to the barn to meet Tia & Bud.  She is also a volunteer from where I help w/ Hippo Therapy. 

Of course, she also met the Buddha - who always has a case of " Stranger Danger " when meeting new people.

The Perfect Mother's Day Prezzie

What a wonderful surprise for me that I was able to ride the day before MY favorite holiday - Mom's Day :))    Usually rain & mud are a deterrent for such activity @ the barn......BUT......this Saturday was an absolute gift from above & Kayla & I wasted no time mounting up !

As you can see - t'was a lil windy & cool BUT the fact we could ride overruled any discomfort  we could have complained about :)

                                      Now K is rocking out w/ the Buddha ....

                                          And I'm loving up my girl Tia......

Afterwards we decided to let them enjoy some of the newly grown grass as a reward for being so good after not being ridden in a while  due to wet weather.

                        Then K brought our Blackjack - who was half shaved.



I smiled all the way home & was already looking forward to the next time I could ride.  Also   urged Mother Nature to NOT rain towards the end of the following week since the pattern had been - no rain  M-T-W-TH......& pour buckets Friday :(

Taking a Break......

The Buddha's blog will be on hiatus since the death of Mom last Friday.  It was a long time coming & I'm relieved she is no longer in pain.

Giddy Go!!!

It was Kayla & I all the way today - she got lessons from Patty & I rode both my equines.  Usually we are rained out by April BUT this April Fools Day was no joke!

After riding, we decided to treat the equine in the front pen to some goodies.  Black Jack, Regal & Dinky were anxiously awaiting our arrival :)

Ah, tis Good to Ride.......

After Buddha's B'day blast - we returned to our normal Saturday & just rode & rode- even tho it was a tad chilly !

 Don't feel bad for Dinky - we toss his to him so their is no " feuding  " over possession - horses don't believe in ownership is 9 10ths of the law - their belief is ....if I nab it it's mine!!!

Buddha's lil Friend......

Dinky has been @ the barn for a while now & is feeling VERY comfortable.  A few Saturdays ago, my friend Jin snapped some photos of him relaxing & rolling as only horses / ponies can :)

                                    Here he is laying down by Blackjack.....

                         BJ knew what was going to happen...so he removed himself .

                                                Ah.....that feels SO good :))

             


He continued rolling for a few minutes - then got back up  & began eating the hay that moments ago was his cushion ..........I just love watching these wonderful creatures doing what they do best - enjoying every moment :)

The Buddha turns 21 !!!

Saturday we celebrated Bud's 21st B'day w/ beer & a Chinese luncheon!! A snippet of info you may not know is that Patty renamed Bud when she first bought him .....for Bud Light beer!! Here are some photos from our fun day.....

Before we had our beer tasting moment - after all -  he did turn 21 !!!

 

I opted for a bowl for less mess.  

The Buddha was NOT all interested in his Birthday Beer......

 

 

We ended our day w/ a delicious Chinese lunch - w/ Patty, Doug, Lloyd, Imee - who came ALL the way from Africa to attend, Jin & myself.  Thank you all for a very fun day& those yummy  cookies. .
