Collage of 2012...

Sometimes, when Mother Nature is determined to have me remain in Arlington Heights on a Saturday - I must create  ideas for the blog. ( We rec'd alot of snow yesterday & the drive probably would have taken 3 times as long - ergo I am @ my computer today.)

Over time, Kayla & I have taken some " interesting " photos of the horses  & I'd like to show them to you   today :)

Yep...that would be mud & hoof prints :)

                                                            English bridal on Tia

                                                     Western bridal on the Buddha

A lil ankle stretch always feels so good  :)

                                                                 Tia's nosy nose...

Yep....The Buddha is aging ....look @ those grey hairs !!

                                                             A little English tack

My absolute favorite.....beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Barn Record Broken in 2012

For the first time in 7 years  I was able to ride in January!!!!   It was a tad muddy, but Kayla & I mounted our equine & hit the pasture w/ huge smiles.     I had been ill over the holidays, so I had NOT seen Bud or Tia for over 2 weeks .......to be able to ride was a real treat :))

Bud had escaped from his stall as I was closing his run door......

Doesn't he look like he's saying, " Isn't anyone going to open the gate ?"  The answer was a giant NO & he was wrangled up & placed back in the barn.

Blackjack could not believe the English saddle was actually on him!!

The Buddha was also in  absolute  disbelief !!

Tia was laughing @ them as we walked by.....

Patty had suggested we lunge softly due to the ground's condition - Bud did NOT obey!

The Buddha was his normal crazy bucking bronco while going in circles.......

BJ was a gentleman & obeyed nicely for Kayla  :)

Around & around they went - nice & slow.

Dinky, Regal & Casino were enjoying the morning sunshine.....

                                                     As well as  Chucky...

Kayla & BJ were  practicing saddle seat for later this year....

Max, who had been out earlier, was given a new jolly ball.....

And continued to have a ball :))

Lastly Ms. Tia was outside munching away on her hay - it was hers b/c she would not let anyone else get close to it - ya gotta love these mares :)

If you would like to see a video of Max playing w/ his 1st jolly ball - go to you tube & type in
Max w/ jolly ball ............... you will be chuckling :)
