Kids Day @ the Barn........

We sponsored a kids day in Wisconsin & had 7 children, 3 horses & plenty of adults......

The first group showed up early.....

Blackjack was watching from the cross ties

Tia was very interested as she watched from her stall.

And the Buddha could have cared less - I had lunged & rode him before anyone arrived & he was NOT interested in anything :)

                          We had grooming lessons......

Some kissing time for Tia - from Wendy :)

The second group soon arrived....note the stroller.

And the riding began - Caitlin did great on Black Jack

Ryan & Bud figured it out

                               Mom even rode!!

Melody, Kayla & myself all had our " charges " leading them around the tract.

Here are Jasmin, Holly, Olivia & Eva + the Buddha

Caitlin & Ryan on Bud & Blackjack - who is asking Bud " when is this over again "?

And last, but not least......Antonio on Tia.

We had a great time with great kids & great horses....followed by a delicious picnic lunch.   The kids also received goody bags that contained gummy bears, Mickey D GCs, photo of Bud & Tia, horse stickers, balls & tattoos plus a info sheet on horses.

I was SO proud of the horses - they were very well behaved in the heat w/ inexperienced riders & numerous trips to the mounting block.  And yes, they were adorned w/ apples & carrots before being turned out to re-coup from their very busy morning :)

Tia & Blackjack Tear it Up!

As promised, here are some photos of Miss T & BJ being free lunged in the round pen.

Tia was flying around the corners!!!!

Then she thought she could hide in the willow tree.......

T....I can see you behind that weed....silly girl.

I had to go flush her lil butt out!!

Favorite shot of her zooming past me :)

Time to call it quits & let Black Jack have a turn....

Kayla in hot pursuit of her boy......

He was trotting his heart out :)

                     And covered some serious ground!

And as  always.... a big finish with a love fest :)

Free Lunging - what a hoot!!

Sometimes it's fun & faster to free lunge a horse in a small enclosed pen instead of using a lunge line in the pasture.  Bud - in his infinite wisdom - thought he was going to be turned out to graze...silly horse...but when he saw the lunge whip...he realized the reality of the situation & hi-tailed it!!!

                                Zoom zoom zoom . . . .

He was pretty impressive, I must admit :)

                                Gitty go!!!!

Here I am convincing him to switch directions.

Now...it's time to cool down & get some quick grazing in!

I just love this photo :)......thanks Kayla!

And lastly... back to the barn for some R & R before riding.

The next post will show Tia & BJ running for THEIR lil lives!!

The Ladies Luncheon

Melody & I had planned a Ladies Luncheon Day for June 29th with 6 lovely women to come meet the Buddha & Ms. Tia.  Well, it turned out to be only 3 of us BUT we had a fun time & enjoyed our day.

Melody & her friend Jackie saying hi to BJ & Regal

While Bud & Tia were happily munching on Mel's carrots inside!

She at least took a breath!!

Jackie had Buddha duty & did marvelously :)

BJ & Regal were politely nosy @ the "newbie" in the pasture :)

Melody, Jackie & Ms. Tia together at last.....

From the barn we enjoyed a delicious lunch @ 75th Street Restaurant - thank you Mel - & we parted ways.... sated of both food & friendship.
